Want to hear the lovely story behind this tattoo? Sarah @lovelythingstattoo tells us how she and Marie collaborated on this beautiful piece!
"A little about her concept taken from the poem, 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner' by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. In the poem, the mariner shoots down a friendly albatross and is cursed for the crime against nature, with the dead bird becoming a physical symbol of burden. I have seen a lot of tattoos done of the shot bird, but I want mine to be flying, in opposition to the burden of the dead bird in the story.”
The poem, published in 1798, is famous for its supernatural elements, vivid imagery, and moral lesson about the interconnectedness of all living things, emphasizing that 'He prayeth best, who loveth best / All things both great and small'."
